One of the most cherished things I own- I can not hold in my hands. I can't even see it with my eyes.
But I can hear it. Over and over again if I like... and best of all...
I can... Feel it.
This file- is the only recording I have of my Mother's voice.
I found it on my phone at work.
She would call when I was not there and leave me messages.
Always to tell me how much she loved me.
I have waited to share it with you... although- I still have a very hard time listening to it.
I am happy that I can share this with you... for I had the most wonderful mother...
(These three messages where send from late August and until Late December... She knew she was sick and by the last message she was... not well- but still called all the time...)
WOW what a lovely time I had~
Getting to meet such lovely students- seeing familiar faces and dear friends again!
Happy to be home however.
RODE in the scooter rally this weekend-
which was delightful.

Hahahaha- Hello.
Well I have been meat free for one week and one day.
I know- what does that really mean? It means I must be on some strange "Jane-kick" for this month? Well... I am not sure why I am doing this. Part of it is for weight loss and health- as how many truly heavy-set-sickly vegetarians do I know? Not many. So that is one and Two- is all about the feelings I get when I think about the animals I am eating and that just nearly pushes me into the darkest place I could ever go. I think about how horrible it must have been for them- ALL the TIME. Each time I eat- I think it. I decided that it is time.
So on the way to work last Tuesday, I said- Today is the day. And since then- this is the first week- I am living by example. I will never say to others to do it like me- I just am telling myself to be a better me.
You know what More I learned?
I learned that- "In Order to get
things done- you have to do it yourself- and to get things done- you
need to lead by example" - meaning, get off your ass and do it and
pretty soon, you are getting it done. How old am I? It took me how long to realize this??? Hahaaa... It is my new secrete to getting
the dishes done and sink cleared- and having it stay clean! HUZZAH!

On the topic of eating, health and fitness... Besides investing in a nice Back Stretcher and Ab Trainer from Brookstone which arrived on my doorstep yesterday and needs to be put together of course...
This past weekend-Thomas decided to finally buy a Wii! THIS was not my idea as I do not see a need to spend my time playing some silly game...
UNTIL LAST NIGHT.... when he had worked up a sweat and was saying- "This is quite a workout- you need to try it..." AND I DID...
AMAZING...
This morning- I noticed three gnats swimming in my tea which I have left sitting out overnight. I have this thing about saving insects. I fished them out one by one. The first one flew away right away. The second one was dead and I felt sad for him. The third was half drown. I rescued him carefully and put him on a paper towel to dry off. After about 5 minutes I noticed that he was sticking to the paper from the dried tea... I grabbed my water bottle and a paint brush (Yes- I always keep a spare paintbrush handy at all times) and I poured a cap of water. I then proceeded to dab water on his legs until he came free. He ran to the edge of the paper towel and flew away... and as he did, at that point, I knew that I am not like 90% of the people in the world. And that is fine.
Haaa... That is what is happening right now in my world. Tonight- ROTATING Sushi at 7 with John and Libby~ Tomorrow is the last scooter meeting at the Club Charles... then Friday- out with Jason and Lisa- followed by a mostly quiet weekend in the studio getting things together for Art & Soul in VA next week.
More later... I hope your weather is a pretty as the weather here... A lovely change indeed!

Goodness how I love this saying... I saw it yesterday in the woman's bathroom. We were having a nice dinner at The Golden West Cafe in Hamden in Baltimore. I went to the bathroom and was Amazed at all of the delicious decor as well as all of the sayings and proverbs from these lovely anonymous ladies!
It was a fantastic strange and oh so quirky restaurant for sure.
Great food too by the way... I have a grilled veggie and Munster cheese sandwich that was truly a taste of Summer.
Thomas, Jason and Lisa and I stopped there after stopping by to see Terrie at her new gallery. Fleckenstein Gallery moved to Hamden and it is an AMAZING space! HUGE actually with a lot of that old Baltimore City flare which I really love. She had just sold my last piece earlier that day! Huzzah! She ask me for more work which felt great... I have been saying how much I miss having work in galleries. GOODNESS I even miss having my own Gallery Shows... Uuugh!
Anyhoo- seeing the new space a great and just getting out in the 80 degree weather was more than I could ask for. Everything in Hamden is nice and close- like stopping in Atomic Books- Always a treat! It is like being in Seattle or Oregon- it just has the sort of feel. After dinner we went to Atomic Pop- the spawn of Atomic Books and had a brilliant time looking at all the Pop-culture toys and oddities. Lisa got her hands on a Japanese Blythe Kubricks Figure
while the boys snatched up a bunch of Adult Swim Mini Figures...
Me? I stood there and daydreamed about making something that I could sell, becoming a full time artists and preparing to take over the world... which I tend to do more and more these days.
Besides- I had a lovely and overstuffed bag of beads and stones.
Indeed, Lisa and I spent the afternoon at the International Bead show at the Convention Center. Oh my goodness do I look forward to these each season. I now see my regular vendors which makes me sort of feel legitimate~!haaa...

So overall- it was a very full day of good friends, good food, toys, beads, art and fine weather.
Today- THUNDER and Rain and a quick trip to Einsteins for breakfast and then out to the studio to work-
I have a Date with the Devil! (More about that later!)
