Last night I had a fantastic dinner at a very local restaurant called House of Kabob. The name does not do this place justice! It should be called HEAVEN or SEX or something like that because it was so delicious.

"Based on Ancient Persia’s thousands of year-old recipes,
House of Kabob
offers an exquisite taste of middle-eastern dining. Whether it’s our
famous ground beef Koobideh kabob, succulent lamb tenderloin kabob, or
the delicately spiced broiled salmon, our food will definitely leave a
satisfied palate.
Whether it’s a romantic night out or an office
party, the House of Kabob is perfect for every occasion. All of our
mouth-watering foods are available for catering, carry-out, or fine
in-restaurant dining. " Did I mention that this place is only about 1 mile from my house?!?! GOODNESS! How convenient!
We ordered humus for the table and a round of Persian Tea on ice. Jason has Barg and chicken, Lisa ordered Lamb Kabob's and Thomas and I actually ordered the same thing- Fesenjan which is Sautéed chicken tenders and walnuts simmered in our delicious sweet and sour pomegranate sauce! So good! I also ordered mast o khiar which is homemade yogurt with chopped cucumber and mint.
For desert we decided to try Akbar mashti which is Persian ice cream made with fresh cream, saffron, and rose water and Faloodeh which is Lemon flavored Persian ice with floating sweet noodles. Served with either lemon juice or sour cherry syrup- YUM! Probably the most unusual desert I have ever had...
The service was brilliant and friendly and the place was intoxicating in its ethnic atmosphere.
So good- I had to post about it!
Have a good weekend- and the next time you are looking for something good to eat which is delicious and different- try Persian food- I insist! Haaa! AND if you live in Maryland and want to try a fun little restaurant- House of Kabob is your place!
