16 Random Things...
1. I have this melancholy love thing with stuffed animals that makes me feel incredibly depressed when I see them on the side of the road, on Ebay, or in thrift shops of flea markets. I feel compelled to stop everything and save them. Now I have to run the other way- or else I get very upset and completely sick to my stomach. I just feel bad for them...
2. I match my underwear all the time. Sometimes I match it to what I am wearing on the outside- or wear colors which all look fun. I have an alarming wardrobe of bras, panties, garters and slips which would completely shock most people.
3. I am more comfortable around silly men than I am with women I think. I am sure this has everything to do with being raised by a strong practical Mother and being around crazy wild boys when I growing up. I remember my two best friends in kindergarten -first/second grade? Were Matt Ball and Mike Yaffee. I managed to remain very much a girl and was not completely a Tom-Boy- although I could easily climb a tree or play a sporty game of flash-light tag. These days I still seem to find my closest relationships are with men.
4. I do not wear glasses but I still wear fake plastic glasses because I like the way I look wearing them- they are like jewelry for my eyes. I even match the color of my glasses to what I am wearing (See #2)!
5. I believe that I am born, I live, and then I die. After that- I think there is nothing more- like the end of an old movie where everything becomes white. This is why I need to make the most of the time I have now because of the nothingness after. This makes me work hard. I also blame many years of Art History classes making me worry that I will die too young before making enough art to leave behind. TIC-TOC!
6. I do not like wine no matter how much I try. The closest thing I have come to liking it was something I had once years ago which I liked and it was most likely out of a big stupid box. I stick to dark beer if I am drinking at all... I remain a "cheap" date and get tipsy off of a half a glass! SHAMEFUL Indeed. I will stick to coffee or tea!
7. I am intrigued with Assassins and have been reading about becoming one. Again I blame too many great action movies. I think I would love to also be a spy.
8. I used to ride horses in horse shows- mostly jumping. I won some ribbons even... but did not stick with it. It was expensive and I discovered boys and art and art-boys...
9. I once played Varsity Soccer... but I secretly hated it. I did it for my parents. I just was not into the sports-team sort of mentality. It was an awkward time I guess... funny to think I did that- and good for "lists" like this to add it too!
10. I used to work at a horse farm- getting up at 5:30am and working until about 5-6pm. I was only 17-18 years old. It seems rather awful for someone that young and it was- I smelled really bad at the end of a day. I also was a Life Guard, worked at an art store, worked at a vets office for one day (WORST job Ever), was a picture framer, was a florist, and painted windows with pictures and words, taught college art, was a secretary for the National Institute on Drug Abuse before quitting all of it to become a full time artist.
11. I witnessed my grandmothers death and my mothers death as well as a few dear sweet pets... Death is not my friend.
12. I was once in a fight. I guess you could say I won- but in return I lost a part of myself- all while gaining my independence. It was a complicated thing- but it made me who I am today.
13. I was born with black hair and very dark red skin- my Mom said that if she had a feather- I would look like an Indian. I lost all that black hair a short while later and went super curly blonde with terribly pale skin. At the age of 15 I started to dye my hair- It took me over 20 some years to stop changing colors and just stay put as a blonde. (P.S. My Mother was in labor with me and refused to go to the hospital until she was finished dying her roots- I get it honest!)
14. I don't go to movies- the crowds bother me and I always miss the movie. The same things with going to shows- except the symphony- I like that- because most of the time people behave and are dressed nicely! haaa...

15. I believe one day- some how someway I will be historic. Hopefully for art and not for something scandalous! HA!
16. I am left handed- say no more...
