I am a firm believer that you can pretend that you are anything and be pretty good at whatever it is you are pretending to be... For me- today- that would be Not Sick. How is this working for me? Well- 50-50 I think! (THAT photo doesn't help convince anyone that I am well...uggh! Haa!)
So get this- I could not sleep last night (sort of like tonight). I was up until at 5am which is NOT GOOD (DAMN you FACEBOOK) since I tend to keep Bankers hours. I got up at 8am like I normally do and made coffee but as soon as the boy left the house- I WENT BACK TO BED! There- I said it. I did something which goes against all that I believe in. SLACKING is not part of my work ethic. But I did. I felt like someone drained every bit of energy out of me. Sure enough- around Noon- THE BOY CAME HOME SICK! Yep- I was totally busted... and yet there was a part of me which was totally unapologetic. I really felt awful. Or at least like I am on the verge of getting really sick. EVERYONE here in Baltimore seems to be getting this. Or at least as I see on my Twitter & Facebook.
So I just decided to call it a sick day- and stay in with the boy. Wow he sounds terrible- far past the pretending to be well and be well point. Taking the horrible tasting liquid medicine every couple of hours. Coughing and congestion and aches and fever. I too can feel it if I stop and think about it- but as I "believe"- I am NOT sick. NOT going to get sick and DO NOT HAVE TIME to be sick. (Which will probably lead me to become REALLY sick! Uuugh!) But for right now- I am holding steady. Who knows what I will post tomorrow or in a couple of days. Right now- All is Well- La la la la...
So after making Pancakes for dinner- because I can- and because it is the true form of comfort food to me- the one things which should be added to Rock Paper Scissors- pancakes beats all! HA! I went out to the studio to work. I managed to get a lot accomplished.
