ART STAR CRAFT BAZAAR THIS WEEKEND!

The 2009 Art Star Craft Bazaar

When: Saturday, May 30th from 11-6pm & Sunday, May 31st from 11-6pm

The ladies behind Art Star have juried in over 100 of the most talented emerging artists from the Indie Craft Scene.  Crafters & artists from across the country will be selling handmade goods & artist products in a variety of materials.  Shoppers can expect clothing, jewelry, prints, accessories, bags, dolls, hats, craft supplies, house wares, stationary, sculpture, fine art, ceramics, glass, baby items & so much more!  All items for sale will be incredibly unique, affordable, of high quality, and reflect the aesthetic of Art Star Gallery.

Jack McBrearty of the beloved local band The Mural & The Mint has organized live music all day, each day.

*Although I can notbe there, I was there LAST YEAR and LOVED IT! It was so FANTASTIC! So I URGE YOU to go!

Self Portrait Tuesday...

I haven't posted anything in a while- been working in the studio making things of course... So since it is Tuesday I thought I would post a Self Portrait Tuesday photo...

This is part of my very long series of bathroom portraits which I have been doing since well... MAY 2003!

In the past year and a half, I have taken a photo a day without missing a single day which- I must say that it is NO easy task for sure!!!

Try doing anything day after day for even a week! I can't seem to do a lot of things day after day- but for some reason I can do this weird little project...

Anyhoo- tonight I took my daily photo(s).
I usually take about 20 photos a day to just find one since I feel that I am far from a model!

Tonight I took the 12 I had and just collected them into one single photo for the heck of it.

The main thing about these photos I took tonight are that they are unedited. In other words- this is me, in my bathroom for about 5 minutes tonight.

Ahhh yes- this project is a true exercise in creative discipline.
Anyway- I thought I would share for the heck of it.

*P.S. Maybe one day- I shall take all of these photos and turn then into some kind of book or something. I certainly have LOTS. Like-thousands! YIKES!

Mother's Day kitten~

Strange how things just sort of have a way of "HAPPENING". About 2 weeks ago, I had a dream about a little orange-ish kitten. Sure enough a few days later- I notice a Titter from my friend Annie who put out a Notice- that there a lovely girl who was looking after a Momma Cat who had 4 little ones and they were in need of a home. I went and peeked at a link to a video of these little dumplings and knew right away- that this was meant to be. I am going to go visit them on Thursday. I can take one of these sweet ones- but there are 3 more and the Momma- If she can not find a home for them- I am going to suggest that she take them to Defenders of Animal Rights- a local No-Kill shelter! It is where I have gone to get my other kitties- a brilliant place! If you happen to be local- and can help with giving one of these darlings a home- let me know. In the meantime- take a peek! It think this is the one who will be a part of my home soon...

Back from Art & Soul Virginia!

Ah! I am back from teaching at Art & Soul in Virginia~! WHAT a lovely time- great classes and fantastic students...

I am slowly getting up-packed and need some time to go through my photos to upload. However in the mean time- here are some of the results from my ILLUMINATED SHRINE Class I taught on Friday! Goodness it is completely AMAZING how you can take one simple idea and turn it into countless possibilities! I am honestly- so so Giddy with the results! Everyone created such delicious little stories in these shrines! AND THE LIGHTS!!!!! When we turned the room lights low- There was a such a perfect glow... and everyone went- "ahhhhhhhhh"! Such a cool feeling. Bravo!!!
